Christmas Break

Christmas is always a good time when you have kids. It's never really about what you are getting for presents anymore. I find now with 3 young kids it's about their excitment and all that I can do as a parent to make it a more magical time.

Our one rule for the kids this year is that they were only allowed to ask "Santa" for 3 presents. We have learned from previous years that anything more than that is quickly forgotten. So we very happily didn't spend as much on gifts this year. The girls favourite gift was of course their Leapster 2 game systems. Braden's favourite toys was Kota the dinosaur ( stomps and roars). He has finally gotten over his obsession with Barbie and has found a new love of dinosaurs.

We spent Christmas day in Cardston at Brad's grandpa's ranch. The kids spent some time on the now frozen pond. This was their 1st time to ice skating thankfully we had no broken bones.

For boxing day we spent our time on our at the Ramada Hotel for the 3rd year in a row. The kids had a blast spending the night at the hotel and spending countless hours at the waterpark with their cousins. Ava is our little fish so we rarely saw her at all as she was busy enjoying the waterslides and on the inner tubes in the pool. We were quite happy to see that Kaitlin ventured on into the water past her ankles this year ! Last year Kaitlin sat on the steps of the pool for the 1.5 days that we were at the hotel. This year she is obviously more comfortable in the water and even went down the waterslides a time or two. This is probably the first year Braden could really enjoy the pool and her tired Brad out dragging him to and from the slides, pool & hot tubs.

All in all it was a very nice and realxing time for all.
